With availability of CBRS spectrum, enterprises now have the opportunity to deploy LTE networks onsite that are fully under their control. Using multiple technology providers as solution partners, NODABL offers private LTE networks as custom-designed turnkey solutions. Enterprises can deploy the networks using one of two business models: Network as a Service or Upfront CAPEX. In both models, the network is managed and monitored 24/7 professionally by NODABL freeing up enterprise’s resources for business-critical tasks. Enterprises that opt for Network as a Service model further enjoy the predictability of a defined monthly OPEX and can expand the network or the applications that run on the network as their needs grow.

The Coronavirus pandemic and accompanying school closures and stay at home orders are forcing school districts to transition to distance learning. This is creating challenges for students without broadband access at home, and this Digital Divide is affecting K to 12 students the most in rural and underserved metro communities. Utilizing the CBRS spectrum, NODABL offers point to multipoint Fixed Wireless Broadband access directly from schools to the students’ homes. High power outdoor 4G/LTE base stations located on school premises can deliver broadband connectivity to LTE-WiFi gateways located at students’ homes. The CARES Act Education Stabilization Fund can be leveraged by school districts to implement the solution.

Deploying a cost-effective network is key to offering broadband to rural customers at sustainable subscription rates. The availability of unlicensed CBRS spectrum neutralizes one key element of network cost.  NODABL has identified a novel network architecture for rural broadband which can be deployed in a WiFi-like manner at WiFi-like costs. By using a wireless “MESH” network of outdoor nodes, NODABL provides fixed wireless broadband to rural communities. The outdoor network is complemented by LTE to WiFi gateways at customer sites. Higher download speeds (e.g., between 30 and 90 Mbps) compared to legacy technologies can be delivered at very competitive costs.

While our solutions can be implemented in almost all industry verticals, NODABL has particular expertise in addressing the needs of Education, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Hospitality verticals. Through a combination of indoor and outdoor access points and end use devices such as video surveillance cameras, smartphones, laptops, two-way radios, LTE to WiFi gateways, routers, and modems, business critical applications such as employee communications, on-site guest communication, broadband internet access, mobile Point of Sale, security/safety, building management, etc. can be supported. Private LTE can be deployed as an overlay network to augment the existing WiFi infrastructure.

NODABL believes that the early successful 5G deployments are going to be self-contained networks in enterprise environments such as manufacturing, distribution centers, warehouses, etc. where automation provides a competitive edge. For such use cases, NODABL is developing a rapidly deployable 5G-in-a-Box indoor/outdoor solution using the CBRS spectrum.
